Adrienne came to Wild Things with years of experience working in the pet care industry. Her time working as a dog daycare attendant, a manager at a dog boarding facility, and a manager/nutrition specialist at Bentley’s Pet Stuff has given her a wealth of knowledge about dog behavior and health. Adrienne is passionate about pet rescue and lives with Jack, a pitmix, 2 guinea pigs and 4 snakes!
I am a retired accountant who is following her dreams of being outdoors and with animals. I’ve had dogs my entire life, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes and everything in between. I was a breeder of black labs before committing to rescues only and for ten years I opened my home to 26 unadoptable ferrets to live out their lives with love. Currently I share my house with a golden retriever named Nugget, a black lab named Shadow and recently lost my closest sidekick, a 14 year old Shepherd/Border Collie Mix named Merlin.
I am an introvert that loves to take lone hikes with my dogs, so pet sitting is a natural extension of that. There is no such thing as a bad day when you are greeted with wagging tails and puppy kisses. I go home satisfied every day knowing that I made the day a little brighter for an animal and in turn, they made mine brighter too.
My passions include hiking, cycling, Spartan obstacle course racing and playing with my 3 year old grandson. I am a published amateur wildlife and landscape photographer and I’m rarely far apart from my camera when I’m off work.

Lexie Newman is a children’s librarian by day and pet sitter by night. She spent many years as a volunteer with a local no-kill shelter, where she was called the kitten whisperer. All of Lexie’s animals have been rescues, from her first kitten, adopted when she was four, to her current fur babies. She has owned cats and dogs, several of whom had chronic health problems (including lupus, diabetes, epilepsy, and severe separation anxiety). A native of Indiana, Lexie has lived in the NW suburbs for 24 years. In her spare time you can find her in her gardens, practicing yoga, cuddling with her fur babies, or creating memories with family and friends.
I’ve loved animals ever since I was little, bringing home strays all the time! My love for animals continued as I grew older. I currently have two cats and one dog. Dog walking doesn’t feel like a job to me, it’s a when I get to spend time with your fur babies! Be out doors and be a friendly face your dog looks forward to seeing when your away during the day!
Blythe has been with Wild Things since August 2018, and an animal lover since birth. She has pet sit for friends and family for many years, and always had a pet to care for herself. In addition to family dogs, she has had fish, mice, a rat, rabbits, and cats. She started professionally caring for animals at ranches and stables after school to tend to horses and livestock.
When I moved to St. Charles I was leaving a corporate career and searching for real purpose in my life. After decades of being a pet owner, foster, and pet lover, I knew that my true calling in life was to provide joy, exercise, love, and experienced care to the pets in my community. I also felt a great desire to help their parents; I related heavily with families that love their pets immensely but have to work long hours, travel for business, care for a growing family, or want to take a much-needed vacation to recharge the proverbial battery. I knew the guilt that came with those responsibilities. They’re our babies, we love them tremendously, we worry about them the whole time! My primary objective has always been to provide families comfort and peace of mind knowing that their pets are being loved and doted on by experienced, reliable, and enthusiastic professionals who adore their babies as much as they do.

After the loss of her Hungarian Vizsla, Gabriela missed the canine companionship and was excited to bring her love, dedication, and friendship to the Wild Things family. As a pet parent to 3 beautiful rescue cats, Gabriela also brought a wealth of knowledge to our feline friends as well. Gabriela’s other passion is photography. She is an artist and fine art photographer, photography instructor and in her free time volunteers at St. Charles Art Council. She also uses her skills to photograph pets in rescue in order to help them find their forever homes.
